Portable Appliance Testing: safeguarding your guests, protecting your reputation
Whilst PAT testing is not compulsory, it's essential that your guests and staff are in a safe environment. Portable Appliance Testing ensures that all your plug-in electrical devices are safe and suitable for normal use. PAT testing involves both visual checks and formal testing with specialist equipment. St Ives PAT Testing can quickly and effectively examine all your plugin electrical equipment and make sure that it is safe to use.
We recommend that equipment is tested annually and this may be a requirement of your insurance policy - our computer-generated reports will meet their strict requirements. When we test your electrical equipment, we will issue a certificate of compliance as well as pass stickers for each item that we test.
PAT testing is also a fundamental part of fire risk assessments - cooking appliances (including gas and other), electrical distribution and other electrical appliances were responsible for 76% of all accidental dwelling fires in 2013-14 (Fire and Rescue Statistical Release, Dept for Communities and Local Government). We can also provide formal fire risk assessments for your property.
Here are just some of the businesses and premises that we cover in St Ives and west Cornwall:

Whether you rent out your own cottage or are an agency with a portfolio of hundreds, we can carry out PAT testing at a time to suit you.
Safeguard your holiday guests with PAT testing. We can carry out a room-by-room test of all your plug-in equipment.
Winter in Cornwall is a perfect time for PAT testing in your hotel to keep your guests safe all year round.
If you run or manage a holiday park in west Cornwall, make sure you invest in PAT testing to keep your guests safe.
A local business helping local business
Efficient and effective, we build a safety-tested inventory of your electrical appliances
When we arrive at your property, we steadily work through your list of equipment. First we check plugs and wiring for integrity, before performing a full safety diagnostic using our specialist equipment.
Once the item has passed, we fix a dated pass sticker to the item and record it in our notes. On completion, we issue a computer-generated, detailed certificate for the property.
To ensure your property or properties are fully compliant and safe, book us early for annual PAT testing. We work evenings and weekends to accommodate the check-in, check-out timetables of accommodation businesses in the St Ives area. We will also carry out PAT testing in Hayle, Marazion, Penzance, Sennen, Mousehole, St Just and other parts of the Penwith peninsula.
We can also provide formal fire risk assessment for your property - faulty electrics are the biggest cause of fires today.
